The Case for Mentoring

Why Mentoring?
Why Now?

• Lamoille County kids are struggling — and mentoring helps. One third of Vermont high school students report poor mental health. Research across 25,000+ young people shows mentoring creates measurable improvements in mental health.• Kids with mentors feel more connected — to school, to adults, and to their future. Only 53% of Lamoille County high school students “strongly agree or agree that in their community they feel like they matter to people”. Mentoring directly addresses this gap.• Mentoring is one of the most cost-effective youth interventions available, with proven benefits across academics, mental health, and behavior. One caring adult can change everything.
